Lots has been written about what a simple life looks life. About the many different ways to get there, not so much. And about how to chart your own sensible course from complex to simple—forget it.

But it is possible to chart your own course. Others have done it. And for every problem you are likely to meet on the way, someone else has already met it, explored it, struggled with it, and dealt with it somehow. Now, if only they had written about the experience, you could surely have learned from their example and applied it to your own situation.

You’ve stumbled across a community devoted to sharing the messy details of their own efforts to make their live simpler. Rather than glamorizing the simple life or offering sure-fire systems for simplifying, we try to leave loose ends loose and partial successes partial, hoping that others will be encouraged and edified by honest accounts of our trials and triumphs and puzzles and retrenchments and even failures.
